NASHVILLE, Tennessee (WSMV) – A Tennessee National Guard member arrested by Metropolitan Police on Thursday was responding to an erotic advertisement allegedly made by a teenager who was in fact an undercover police officer, according to a court affidavit obtained by News4.
William Moore, who holds the rank of Master Sgt at 118 Wing, a Tennessee Air National Guard unit, was arrested after engaging in a conversation with an undercover Metro police officer and arrived at a hotel after having agreed to exchange $ 100 for sex with whom he believed to be 16.
Police said Moore responded to an erotic ad posted on a website known to detectives to solicit prostitution. He was one of 15 people arrested during the undercover operation.
Police said Moore entered the hotel room and deposited $ 100 on the counter. He was taken into custody without incident, according to the affidavit.
The Tennessee National Guard released a statement regarding Moore on Saturday.
“The Tennessee National Guard is aware of the events that have been reported regarding the Chief Master Sgt. William Moore, member of 118 Wing.
“The Tennessee National Guard takes these allegations very seriously. Moore has been placed on leave while we support and assist civilian law enforcement agencies in their investigation. Once the civilian court process is complete, we will determine the appropriate military disciplinary action to take. The charges in this incident do not reflect the values of the Tennessee Air Force and National Guard. “
Moore is scheduled to appear in Davidson County General Sessions Court on November 5.
