Kronenberg has joined the firm as an Energy Finance Partner in the Finance Practice Group, Restructuring and Bankruptcy and as a member of the company’s interdisciplinary energy industry team, and will be based in the company’s offices in Washington, DC, and Cincinnati, OH. At Blank Rome, David will focus his practice on the intersection of energy hedging, financing and bankruptcy law, representing energy companies, financial institutions, hedge funds and private equity firms. David joins Sidley Austin where he was an attorney in the company’s energy group.

David regularly supplies energy industry customers such as commodity hedge providers, pipeline operators, oil and gas producers, retail energy providers, power plant operators and utilities. renewable energy providers a range of legal services, including the structuring and negotiation of physical and financial commodity transactions, the structuring and analysis of secure energy transactions, and the use or exchange of energy credits renewable energy, carbon quotas and offsets. He also has a strong track record in distressed energy M&As, helping energy companies buy and sell businesses. In addition, David provides energy sector clients with advice on bankruptcy matters, including the enforcement of energy contracts and other creditor rights issues in Chapter 11 proceedings and related litigation, and the application of the safe harbors of the Bankruptcy Code to energy derivatives and other contracts. In 2021, David assisted companies in bankruptcy and restructuring cases following the tragic winter storm Uri.
